Yoga is the perfect preparation for labour because it is all about breathing. By learning to stay in control of your breathing, you can stay focused during your labour, work your way through the contractions, fight off feelings of anxiety or exhaustion, and give yourself the best chance of giving birth the way you want to. By practising the exercises in Breathe your way through birth with yoga, you can also prepare your body for childbirth and give yourself a range of positions to try during labour all of which will make you feel more confident and more capable going into the labour room. The book explains how yoga can help, shows you what exercises you can do to prepare for labour, provides you with positions that will be helpful for each different stage of labour and even gives you a few pointers for how to enjoy the benefits of yoga with your new baby.
