The first authoritative manual of the teachings, practices, and activities developed by Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village educators to help teachers cultivate mindfulness in their own lives and in the lives of their students in classrooms, schools, and universities around the globe.

The authors stress that teachers, professors, administrators, and other personnel must first embody mindfulness practice and transformation themselves as the interconnected and ethical foundation for everything they do in their schools, universities, and classrooms. The book includes easy-to-follow, step-by-step techniques—perfected by educators themselves—to learn mindfulness and to apply it in their relationships and teaching with students and colleagues.

Presented in secular language appropriate for many classrooms, the instructions in Happy Teachers Change the World are offered as basic, bare-bones mindfulness practices taught by Thich Nhat Hanh, followed by down-to-earth guidance for educators who use and teach the practices in their classrooms, with ample in-class interpretations, activities, tips, and student responses.
