Sri Ramakrishna is worshipped by his countless devotees all over the world as a divine incarnation. To them, he was their beloved Thakur (God), who would enlighten them spiritually as well as bring joy, peace and solace in ther lives, while leading them to the path of god realisation. Sri Ramakrishna was a personification for transcendental purity and renunciation and did not deviate by a hair's breadth from the path of rectitude. His teachings, delivered in colloquial Bengali, in an informal manner, contaning the sublime wisdom of the Upanishads, enthralled the devotees, who came in thousands to hear him. He propagated the message of religious concord and harmony and emphasised that different religions are different paths, all leading to God. He said that religious acrimony was the outcome of bigotry and ignorance. With deep humanism, he felt that "Jiva is Shiva" and service to man is the highest form of service to God. This book is a reverential tribute of a humble devotee, to the great Master, briefly deals with some of the eternal teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and their undying significance and perennial value for the modern world, consumed by intolerance, dogmatism and hatred, teetering on the edge of catastrophic conflicts.
