Forget the drive-through, in Vegan Fast Food you’ll find mouthwatering junk food and comfort food classics, minus the meat and dairy.
Whether you’re a brand-new vegan missing buffalo wings or a longtime vegan tired of the limited vegan options when eating out, Brian Watson, aka Thee Burger Dude, has been there. In fact, few food bloggers have thought more about what textures, tastes, and special sauces make iconic dishes so addictive. In this book, he takes you on a tour through national chain favorites, regional cult classics, and even a few nostalgic dishes perfect for parties, potlucks, or any Saturday night.
Recipes include:
Brian Watson went vegan in 2018 and, since the moment the switch flipped, he’s been busy veganizing his favorite foods, as well as nostalgic dishes from childhood—and eventually reader requests! Before going vegan, Brian ate a lot of meat and dairy. He used to throw BBQ get-togethers just about every Sunday and make hot dogs, burgers, tri-tips, you name it. So suffice to say, he never thought he’d ever go vegan. However, after a deep dive of research into the food system and animal agriculture (spurred on by an initial watch of Dairy is Scary), he has no regrets and remains all-in on being vegan. Thee Burger Dude is now Brian’s full-time job and passion, where he hopes to both deliver delicious eats for fellow vegans and inspire people who might be considering veganism as well—and heck, he’s happy if he gets a meat-eater to try a vegan meal, too! He wants to show that anyone can still enjoy burgers, mac ’n’ cheese, fried chick’n, and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s all possible with plant-based ingredients.
