A true masterpiece, the origin of species laid the foundation of evolutionary Biology as early as 1859. Extraordinarily well written, the book doesn't only explain evolution in an instructive and accessible manner, It also includes fascinating stories about how the process of natural selection occurs in the animal and plant kingdoms. When it first appeared, the origin of species attracted a lot of attention in both scientific and religious circles, and even though many theories contradictions its postulations have been positioned over the decades, the booklets value as one of the greatest work of scientific literature still endures. This classic deluxe edition is a must-have!.

About the Author

Charles Robert Darwin, born 12th February 1809, was an English naturalist and geologist, best known for his contributions to the evolutionary theory. Darwin’s early interest in nature led him to neglect his medical education at the University of Edinburgh. Studies at the University of Cambridge encouraged his passion for natural science and his five-year voyage on HMS Beagle established him as an eminent geologist and publication of his journal of the voyage made him famous as a popular author. Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species, overcoming scientific rejection of earlier concepts of transmutation of species. In recognition of Darwin’s pre-eminence as a scientist, he was honoured with a major ceremonial funeral and buried in Westminster Abbey, close to John Herschel and Isaac Newton. Darwin has been described as one of the most influential figures in human history.
