Anoushka Jain is an Indian historian, author, and heritage researcher known for her engaging work on Indian history, culture, and the often-overlooked contributions of women in the subcontinent’s past. A graduate in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi, she has also earned a diploma in Art History from the National Museum Institute. Jain is the founder of Enroute Indian History, a women-led initiative dedicated to making history accessible through heritage walks, storytelling, research, and public engagement. Her work focuses on bringing historical narratives to life by connecting people with the monuments, personalities, and cultural traditions that have shaped India’s rich heritage. Through her writing and educational initiatives, she encourages readers to explore history beyond textbooks and discover the human stories behind historical events. Her book Badass Begums highlights the lives of remarkable Mughal-era women whose influence, leadership, resilience, and achievements left a lasting impact on Indian history, further establishing her reputation as a passionate and insightful interpreter of the past.
