Rohini Rana, popularly known as Dolly, is an Indian-born author, restaurateur, social worker, and culinary expert celebrated for preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Nepali cuisine. Married to General Gaurav S.J.B. Rana, former Chief of Army Staff of the Nepal Army, she spent much of her life traveling and experiencing diverse cultures as an army wife. Her deep passion for cooking inspired her to document traditional recipes and culinary traditions passed down through generations of the Rana family. She gained international recognition through her award-winning books, including The Rana Cookbook: Recipes from the Palaces of Nepal and The Nepal Cookbook: 108 Regional Recipes, both of which beautifully showcase authentic Nepali and Indo-Rana cuisine. Through her writing, Rohini Rana has played an important role in introducing Nepal’s unique food culture to global audiences while preserving valuable culinary traditions for future generations
