What did you like about the book? This was a wonderful celebration of a diverse cultures and holidays across the globe. In this book we get to visit 15 different areas and learn about the holidays that are celebrated in these places. Many of these celebrations I have never heard of until reading this book. In Ethiopia they celebrate Timkat. This is a holiday that celebrates the day Jesus was baptised. In Japan they celebrate Girls’ Day, celebrating good health and fortune for their girls. In Mexico we learned about Dia De Muertos (the Day of the Dead). On each layout we are introduced to a character who tells us all about their holiday and the things that they love about the holiday. Each page has the holiday origin and where it is celebrated. Readers will also learn about the different foods or activities associated with the holiday. This book is extremely diverse in the illustrations and truly celebrates the global diversity of holidays and people who celebrate them. The illustrations are fun and they incorporate many of the colors and illustrations that are culturally relevant based on the holiday.

To whom would you recommend this book?  Perfect book to read all year round as each of these holidays come up. The information is concise and would be a great resource for creating activities for each holiday for hands-on learning. Perfect for children ages 3 and older.
