About the Author

Simran lives in a world where every line tells a story, every colour hums with memory. By day, she teaches animation at Whistling Woods International, guiding students through the art of movement and meaning. By night (and most weekends), she is an illustrator with a deep love for storytelling.

She is the author of three books: Kalakari (Pan Macmillan India, 2025), You Can Do Origami (Scholastic India, 2023) and How To Survive College (Scholastic India, 2020).

Simran’s work spans picture books, storyboards and editorial illustrations, although she has a particularly soft spot for children’s illustrations. When she’s not drawing or teaching, you’ll find her tending to her growing plant family, sorting LEGO by colour (it’s therapy, okay?), or scribbling punny ideas for her next creative experiment.
