"‘My diamond days did not only consist of the cutting of the diamond, there were many days that were just sparkling light: The days being close to Osho, doing small things for him…just being near him and watching him. The way he lived so totally, silently and gently.’ One of the first personal accounts of life with Osho by a close disciple, this is a fascinating memoir—full of tenderness, drama, wonder and wisdom. Beginning with her first meeting with Osho in London in 1975, Prem Shunyo describes the roller-coaster ride of her inner and outer adventures as a sannyasin and one of Osho’s closest disciples and confidantes. She tells the story of the liberation, joy and self-awareness that Osho brought to hundreds of thousands of lives in his ashram and beyond, and the price that the world made him pay for this. Living and travelling with Osho from Pune to Oregon and back, while there was sublime happiness, there was also a period—when the US authorities embarked on a campaign of persecution of Rajneeshpuram and its residents—that proved both life- and sanity-threatening, yet profoundly rewarding. Writing with candour and remarkable simplicity, Prem Shunyo takes the reader through hair-raising adventures—imprisonment, deportation, attempted murder by thallium poisoning—and finally the resilience, triumph and enduring spirit of Osho’s life and legacy. A rare portrait of one of the world’s great mystics, My Diamond Days with Osho is also an intimate, revealing and ultimately empowering account of a seeker’s journey of self-discovery."
