Ranjit Lal introduces readers to the environment through interesting anecdotes, factual tidbits, well-researched statistical insights and observant descriptions of the rich natural diversity around us; highlights the problems facing us and also provides practical, workable solutions that governments and individuals around the world need to get cracking on---before it's too late.

The breathtaking illustrations that aptly reflect the mood of the narrative-optimistic, yet urgent-and Ranjit's characteristic writing style make this book the perfect read for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
