About the Author

Abdullah Khan is a Mumbai-based novelist, screenwriter, literary critic and banker. Born in a village near Motihari, Bihar, Abdullah was initially educated in Urdu-medium and madrasa schools. His writings have appeared in Brooklyn Rail (New York), Wasafiri (London), The Hindu (India), Daily Star (Bangladesh) and Friday Times (Pakistan), among other publications. Viraam, his debut film as a screenwriter, was released in 2017. Patna Blues is Abdullah’s first novel and is being translated into several languages, including Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, Telugu and Tamil.
