An electronics and telecommunication engineer turned award-winning author, Vaishali Shroff is known for her deep interest in uncovering untold histories and bringing unsung people to the forefront through her writing. Her rich body of non-fiction work has received wide critical and institutional recognition for its originality, research, and narrative clarity. Breaking Moulds was featured on the prestigious White Ravens list and was also a runner-up at the Publishing Next Awards. Her book Batata, Pao, and All Things Portuguese won the SCBWI (USA) Scholarship, the AutHer Award, and received an honourable mention at the BK Awards. Another critically acclaimed title, Taatung Tatung and Other Amazing Stories of India’s Diverse Languages, was recognized by the National Translation Mission, further cementing her reputation as a writer committed to cultural and linguistic diversity. She has also been invited to speak at The British Society for the History of Science. When not writing, she cheerfully admits to preferring children over adults and chocolate over everything else.
