About the Author
Shazi Zaman is a graduate in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and has been an electronic media journalist for over three decades. Giving shape to news channels has been his vocation as also an area of interest. Shazi has been the editor of many national TV news channels. He has been the Group Editor of ABP News Network comprising Hindi, Bangla, Marathi and Gujarati channels and websites. He has worked with Doordarshan, BBC World Service, Aajtak, Zee News and Star News. He has also served as Director,Video Services of Press Trust of India. He has been on the governing body of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi. Akbar is his third novel.He originally wrote Akbar in Hindi and subsequently translated it into English. His earlier Hindi novels are Premgali Ati Sankri and Jism Jism Ke Log. All his Hindi novels have been published by Rajkamal and the English translation of Akbar was done by Speaking Tiger. Shazi has inherited the love of literature from his late father Khwaja Badiuzzaman who was a Hindi author and wrote landmark novels like Ek Chuhe Ki Maut and Chhako Ki Vaapsi. Shazi was born in Delhi and resides here with his family after having spent some years in Mumbai and London.
