Piktru is a young girl, who is full of life. She lives with her parents and grandmother in a beautiful village called Khunou, in Manipur.

Piktru loves to play with her friends and doesn’t want to stop, But every day her mother asks her to come home at twilight.

Piktru wants to know why she has to stop playing at dusk. So her grandmother tells her the story of Meiri, the child who played with spirits…

About the Author: Linthoi Chanu (Potsangbam Linthoingambi Chanu) is a writer from Manipur. Her area of interest includes Manipuri folklore, legends and mythologies, of which she has experimented with modern retellings for the new generation through various media platforms. She is the author of The Tales of Kanglei Throne (2017); Wari (2019), a collection of short stories; and Wayel Kati: The Quest of the Seven Guardians (2023).

About the Illustrator: Rishita Loitongbam is an illustrator from Manipur, currently pursuing Communication Design at National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh. She loves bringing adorable characters to life through her illustrations. In her free time, Rishita enjoys taking aimless walks, humming along to her favourite songs.
