Currently, he holds a professorship at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he teaches cultural theory.Stephen Brown is a playwright, translator, and cultural critic. His translations from German include Sartorius?sThe Princes? Islands: Istanbul?s Archipelago and Birgit Haustedt?s Rilke?s Venice.


Joachim Sartorius is a writer, translator and former diplomat. In 1996 he was made Secretary General of the Goethe Institut and from 2001 to 2011 he was the Artistic Director of the Berlin Festival. He is the author of The Princes? Islands: Istanbul?s Archipelago.
