A powerful tale about friendship, resistance, and the fight to protect one shared planet.

When the forests of Great Nicobar come under threat from giant machines and human greed, the island s creatures know they cannot stay silent. Hatching an audacious plan, an unlikely crew of animals swift-footed Nicobar Treeshrew, clever Nicobar Parakeet, angry Saltie the Crocodile, dexterous Long-tailed Macaque, shy Civet Cat, and determined Cat Snake band together to set out on a daring mission. They will travel across India to the centre of power in faraway Delhi, and plead for their home before it is too late.

Along the way, they cross jungles, rivers, villages and cities, meeting endangered animals from pangolins fleeing hunters and elephants mourning lost families, to birds searching for vanishing water and tigers fighting for survival. Each animal carries a story of courage and hope. The Crew discover allies in unexpected places in tribal communities and young people who still believe the natural world is worth saving.

But will their songs, stories and petitions be enough to make the Humans Who Make Decisions finally listen?

Blending adventure, humour, heart and real environmental truths, The Great Nicobar Journey is an epic eco-quest, inviting readers to see the world through the eyes of the wild. It is a call to save landscapes under threat everywhere, and to listen to those who have been long unheard.
