Travel back in time to discover the extraordinary lives of our ancestors in this accessible introduction to the Stone Age.

The Stone Age was a very, very long period of time. In fact, it covers most of human history and lasted for around 2.5 million years! From stone age tools to cave paintings, archaeologists have uncovered many amazing artefacts that tell us what life would have been like for someone living at this time.

The Stone Age is a simple, accessible introduction to this mammoth part of history. This book is packed full of amazing facts to transport children back in time, where they'll find out how early people lived and survived, from making fire and taming wolves, to creating art and crafting stone tools.

About the Author

Sidra Ansari is a teacher, author and freelance writer. Writing for children has been a dream of hers ever since she used to spend Saturdays devouring her collection of library books, staying up way past her bedtime and loving every minute. Sidra is a mum of five children - four boys and a girl. She works from home, where she spends most of her time talking to the cat, Storm, and trying not to eat too much chocolate.

Rosie is an illustrator and writer living in London. She studied Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Her first picture book It isn't Rude to be Nude is published by Tate and out now. She works in all materials, particularly ink and coloured pencil, and is very enthusiastic about offset lithography and its tradition in children's books. Before her illustration career she studied English literature at Goldsmiths, and then an MA in Globalisation, Ethnicity and Culture at Sussex University. She previously worked as a writer, producer and project manager making websites, videos and radio.
