Way out in the West there's a town they call Fear
And only the roughest and toughest live here . . .

When cheerful salesman, Bingo B Brown, rolls his wagon full of Wild West goodies into town, he's met with a stony silence. This is clearly no place for novelty bow ties and elastic lassos. Not even Bingo's dancing dog can raise a smile! But this town is not just joyless, it's dangerous. And as Bingo soon discovers, the people of the town are not just scary, they're also scared.

It isn't long before Bingo and his dog discover why, as they come face to face with the Wildest Cowboy in the West!

Saddle up for a spectacular ride with a wildly talented pairing: film director and author, Garth Jennings and star illustrator, Sara Ogilvie. The Wildest Cowboy is a funny and uplifting adventure story in which fun wins out over fear. Featuring a dramatic train chase, rattlesnake socks and a dancing dog.

Review

The Wild West isn’t usually a setting for many picture books (at least in the UK), which seems a shame based on this riotous, colourful adventure, which fuses the joy of fancy dress with the dusty remoteness of a pioneer town. This is film director and writer Garth Jennings’ debut picture book, and his Seuss-like rhyming text powers the story along with the bouncy rhythm of Bingo B Brown’s train. Sara Ogilvie’s vibrant, animated and detailed illustration is a perfect partner, giving a fearless sense of fun triumphing over fear., BookTrust

This is an absolute joy to read and is packed full of fun and colourful illustrations that complement the story perfectly., LoveReading4Kids

Eye-catching right from first glance, this wonderful story with its catchy rhyming text is a perfect read-aloud... superbly illustrated by Sara Ogilvie, this is a Wild West tale with a difference., Parents In Touch

The energetic rhyme begs to be read aloud and is perfectly matched by Ogilvie's vibrant, busy pictures, which bring an extra level of humour and storytelling to the text., The Bookseller

Old-fashioned cartoon drawings make this a real winner - so colourful!, Books Monthly

Saddle up and head to town for a big, beautiful bonanza of bold colours, brilliant storytelling and wacky Wild West adventure!, Lancashire Evening Post

A must-read for any cowboy (or girl) mad six-year-old!, @__thefarmerswife__

One of those books that becomes a family favourite on the first read... It's a great story - by the writer of the movie Sing (another fave) - and the illustrations are beautiful. It's perfect for all ages, but especially 3-7, and a must-read for little bookworms., @kate.plus

Undoubtedly one of our favourites we have ever read, such a well written, funny, story with a really lovely moral ending., @fivelittledoves

Brilliant pictures and engaging story, everything you’d expect from the writer and director of Sing., @theonlywayislatte

The illustrations in this book are top notch, not that you would expect anything less when the lady illustrating is also known for The Detective Dog! The book reads in a very sing-song fashion which definitely helps keep the interest of little ones and the overall message is one of fun and being silly triumphing over fear., @porridgeandparenting --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
