'Dead men don't bite'
When young Jim Hawkins finds a treasure map in his parent's house, he embarks on a perilous voyage full danger and deception. With the cunning Long John Silver lurking in the shadows, Jim must navigate betrayal, greed, and hidden secrets on the high seas.
Treasure Island is a thrilling adventure of loyalty, greed, and the price of treasure.
Robert Louis Stevenson was born on 13 November 1850 in Edinburgh. He was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist and travel writer. Despite suffering from serious bronchial illness for most of his life, he continued to travel and write extensively. His writing career witnessed a turn when he travelled to Samoa in the 1890s. Seeing the impact of the first-world influence in South Sea Islands, his writing shifted from romance and adventure to dark realism. His works reveal him to be a social critic and a witness to the colonial history of the Pacific Islands. After he died from a stroke in 1894, half of his original manuscripts were lost and several of his papers were sold and auctioned off by his heirs during the First World War.
