About the Author

Dhwani Shah is an illustrator and graphic designer from Mumbai. She studied design from Sir J.J. School of Applied Art, Mumbai and National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She enjoys working on editorial illustrations, non fiction comics and publication design projects.

Bhaddu Hamir is a Pithora painter from the Rathva community in Central India. He has also worked in farming and construction labour to make a living. A Pithora painting is an offering made by the Rathvas to their guardian deity for protection and well being. Over the years, the lives and circumstances of their people may have changed but there remains a strong connection to the older way of doing things

Ragini Siruguri is a visual communication designer from Hyderabad. She studied Communication Design from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune, and is passionate about photography and music, among other things. She loves to experiment with the smell of colours, the taste of words, and thinking between the lines

Gita Wolf is the founder of Tara Books, and has written nearly 25 books for children and adults. Considered one of the most original and creative voices in contemporary Indian publishing, she has pursued her interest in exploring and experimenting with the form of the book and its status as a revered cultural object. Several of her children's books have won major international awards, including the BolognaRagazzi New Horizons Award.
