Kiaan, a ghost-writer working for an international bestselling author, lives with a landlord obsessed with time and news in a quiet town cradled in the laps of the Himalayas. One cold December morning, a private bus gets ambushed by the Children of God, a dreaded group of mountain dacoits led by Faizah Singh, hunting a political target. But the incident turns out to be a red herring. In the ensuing confusion and mayhem, Kiaan is taken hostage. He finds himself being dragged into a world where he does not belong and into fights that are not his. In this action-packed psychological thriller, Pratik Shah sets a blistering pace as lives that were never meant to collide, stories that might have gone untold, and muffled histories intertwine in the quest for survival.
Pratik Shah is a writer and creative who began his journey in theatre as a child actor at IPTA Balmanch, a wing founded by Kaifi Azmi, before transitioning to production design, writing, and direction. In 2015 and 2016, his fiction gained international traction on social reading platforms and his short stories, published in local magazines, were praised for their gritty, layered narratives on the human condition. Through 2018 and 2019, Shah performed spoken poetry across clubs, stages, and festivals to critical acclaim. His psychological-horror short Psyche, released on Amazon Kindle in 2019, peaked at #2 on the global charts in its category. Over the years, he worked independently as a copywriter and editor after a stint at Ogilvy and was part of the direction team for Netflix’s Skater Girl (2021). Shah holds a master’s from MICA, Ahmedabad, where he also served as Director of Sankalp, the theatre society. He later worked as a creative producer at Viacom18 and Jio Hotstar. Shah is an author and screenwriter, as well as the founder and creative director of 33 Womb, a boutique studio.
