'In a world obsessed with expertise, Vivek argues for something more vital: permeability. Insight, he suggests, thrives on inputs that don't come from the syllabus. From jazz to genetics, from public health to calligraphy – nothing is too foreign, or too trivial. The ability to make lateral connections, to import metaphors from other worlds, is not a flourish – it is the method. And it's that refusal to stay in one lane that gives the book its quiet depth.' – SANTOSH DESAI, CEO of Future Brands and author of Mother Pious Lady
'In his typically interdisciplinary way, Vivek Banerji unpicks the art and science of "insight“. The phenomenon of insights – distinct from ideas or information – remains largely unexamined. This book offers insight into "insight“ itself: a blend of high-concept thinking and practical examples – Banerji brings a rich and much-needed language to the field.' – ED FIDOE, founder and CEO, London Interdisciplinary School
'This book showcases Vivek's rare gift to see what's hidden in the light of what truly matters.' – VIBHA PAUL RISHI, former Global Head of Marketing (Flavours), PepsiCo International
Vivek Banerji founded Insight Dojo, a UK-based company, after spending 13 years as a global leader at McKinsey & Company's Customer Insights & Analytics practice, where he worked in New York and London. Before McKinsey, he was the insights lead at PepsiCo in India, where he was instrumental in driving the adoption of insights throughout the organization, from the C-suite to the frontline. He coined the term 'pragmatic polymath' in 2008, and is a staunch advocate of cross-fertilizing ideas, methods, and knowledge from various disciplines. He holds an honours degree in mathematics from St. Stephen's College and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, both part of Delhi University. Outside work, he plays jazz piano and practises karate, in which he holds a second-degree black belt from the Japan Karate Association.
