A man arrives at an unnamed town and revives an old library with thick walls, cool rooms and shelves of books. Years later, at his home one night, he is knifed to death. Who did it? And why? These questions torment the people whose lives intersected with his.

Sudipt is absent throughout but is revealed through each account of him. In providing their measure of him, each person discloses their own self. Their experience of him gives shape and form to him, and to each one of them.

Love Is Participation in Eternity is a poet’s novel. Written with exquisite clarity and deceptive simplicity, it creates and recreates moods, moments and memories with delicacy and tenderness.
