Shakuni, the hundredth son of King Subala, the youngest prince of Gandhar, the beloved brother of Gandhari, and ... one of the most fascinating antagonists of the Mahabharata. A young prince—who had ambitions to rise in his kingdom, the zeal to achieve his destiny by any means, and unprecedented love for his sister—became one of the biggest villains of Hindu mythology. What were his compulsions? What were his motivations? What was his vow? Gandhar is visited by the formidable Bheeshma, son of Ganga—a moment that sets in motion a saga we all know, yet seldom hear about in the words of the one who sparked it all. This is the untold story of Shakuni, how he watched his family fall, left behind the love of his life and journeyed to Hastinapur with vengeance burning in his heart. His tale, one woven with loss, cunning and the eternal clash of dharma and adharma, will now unfold. Explore the Mahabharata anew through the lens of Shakuni—his story, his character and the actor who brought him to life. Step into the memories of Gufi Paintal, the masterful actor who immortalized Shakuni Mama in the legendary TV serial Mahabharat.

This isn’t the Shakuni the epic warns one about—this is his side of the saga.
