P. Sainath is a renowned Indian journalist, author, and social activist celebrated for his tireless reporting on rural India, poverty, and agrarian distress. He is best known as the founder-editor of People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI), a pioneering digital platform that documents the lives, struggles, and resilience of India’s rural communities, giving a voice to those often ignored by mainstream media. Sainath has spent over three decades traveling extensively across India, reporting from villages and remote regions to highlight issues such as farmer suicides, land rights, rural employment, and social inequality. He is the author of the acclaimed book Everybody Loves a Good Drought, a collection of investigative reports that earned him the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication in 2007.
